Regular readers will know I try not to clutter the blog with little posts, but I haven’t had anything move me like this for a very long time! I know many will have seen this video, but it’s really worth sharing again.

Update

More Christian videos on Animal Discovery. This has got to be the cuddliest lion! Thanks to the reader who sent that in.

New Update

Looks like the email RSS doesn’t display videos… it’s probably too late as the email has gone out, but just in case it matters, please click through to watch it on the actual site. :D

  1. I love the video, but honestly could have done without the sentimental text. :-)

    Hi Albert,
    Wo….w ! What a great video and a great concept.Soo…. touching.
There’s a saying that ” Love is unlimited, boundless, infinite.material things are limited, circumscribed, finite. You cannot adequately express unlimited love by limited means! ”
    Thanks for the great video.
    Have a nice day!

  3. Albert says:

Hi Matthew and Vikum – thanks for the comments :D It’s really been a while since anything has made me feel this way.

  4. Albert,

Wow! I hadn’t seen that. Thanks for making me smile on a Monday morning!

  5. Albert,

That’s incredible. Hard to believe if it wasn’t captured on camera. I love it!

  6. Hey Albert! Thanks so much for sharing this. That’s really incredible! Honestly I’ve read a number of ‘horror’ stories about people raising cubs only to get eaten by their own ‘pets’ when they grow up, so this was really a vast contrast to those stories. It’s so touching that I felt like tearing during the reuniting scene!!

  7. Alex Kay says:

Almost brought tears to my eyes. I think it pretty much showed how we are al ‘one’ and part of the same organism :-) thanks for the video, Albert. Have a great week!

  8. Kaushik says:

    This is great!

There is another viral video about a woman (in the Phillipines?) who saved a lion cub and later reunited, very much like this one. And there’s one of a Buddhist monks (in Burma?) who care for wild tigers, who’ve become so friendly, that even tourists can mingle with them.

    Nice video. Thanks.

  9. Albert says:

Roger, Daphne, Celes, Alex, and Kaushik – Thanks for your comments!

It’s really an incredible video, as someone who spends a lot of time on the internet I’ve seen a lot of these so called Internet Phenomenons but most of them I forgot in a couple of minutes. This one is truly different.

Kaushik, I’m gonna go Youtube those two vids now :D

  10. People need guts, tolerance and a lot of love to do something like this.

  11. The first time I saw this video, I was crying. It is so amazing. I know there are a few books out about this now (an adult one and a children’s one) but I haven’t read them yet. I cannot wait to though. Thanks for posting this reminder of this touching storty.

  12. Albert says:

@ RYM: Definitely, I think the universal reaction is “Isn’t he scared the lion is going to bite him?” :D

    @ PP: You’re welcome, it truly is a tear-jerker isn’t it?

  13. Shubha says:

It’s the mens’ complete trust in themselves and the lion that is so moving! Thanks for the lovely video

  14. Albert says:

Hey Shubha – definitely, that trust is amazing. Thanks!

  15. Manuel says:

I don’t know what to say… Thank you Albert for sharing this with us! :D

  16. Albert says:

    You’re welcome Manuel :D

  17. Albert says:

Hey bluemorpho3! That first picture in the 2nd link really stole my heart.

  18. I absolutely loved it, Albert! :) Thank you so much for sharing this…it made me smile. :)

  19. Albert says:

Hey Nadia, glad you liked it :)

  20. What an amazing video. Albert, thanks for sending it out to your readers. The script is a tremendous aid to those who are deaf and can’t hear the music or any spoken words, Matthew.

  21. Albert says:

Thank you Patricia. I have not met anyone who wasn’t touched by Christian! :)

  22. That’s an interesting synchronicity — we both seem to be exploring “the lighter side” of bloggery — I just did a post about my favorite songs. Although I think you’ve actually done similar stuff before, so perhaps this is just my own initial foray onto “the lighter side.”

  23. Albert says:

Hey Buddy! Yea don’t be afraid of trying out the fun stuff :D – I think some non-entertainment bloggers think of blogging as writing a book. But blogging is a alive and flowing, so fun stuff is actually welcome rather than a distraction. I enjoyed your post on the songs.

  24. Whoa, that’s a wakeup call — I need to stop being a non-entertainment blogger this instant. :)

  25. Miss Raj Rayat says:

Very strange how only today a friend at work mentioned this story to me and I just happened to come across a matching video on a site I regularly visit! It clearly shows that true friendship can exist between all lifeforms, it’s a matter of understanding eachother and putting differences aside.

  26. Albert says:

Hey Raj, thank you! This video never fails to touch me not matter how many times I watch it.
